WHO CAN REGISTER/APPLY FOR AID?

Rank and file crewmembers of any international cruise line or concession can apply for financial aid. There is no restriction for nationality, age, religion, gender, race etc.

HOW OFTEN I CAN APPLY?

Application for financial aid should be submitted only once. Nominations for financial aid disbursement are submitted based on available funds generated separately for each cruise line crew community.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Applications are now open only for rank and file crew members who have not received government grants, financial aid and subsidies, and have been repatriated and financially impacted by temporary unemployment from May 1 to August 1, 2020.

HOW FUNDS ARE GENERATED?

We accept donations from individuals and organizations willing to support the Cruise Line Crew community. Donations related in any form, to promotion of: political, sexual, racial, religious or military causes, will not be accepted.

HOW FUNDS ARE DISBURSED?

To ensure complete transparence, accumulated funds are allocated through online voting and nomination process, where each cruise line crew community each term have to nominate members that will receive financial aid, and nomination results are publicly announced in the community or group.

HOW BENEFICIARIES ARE SELECTED?

We consider crew members to be essential asset to the fabric of Cruise line and leisure industry and SOS Crew wants to provide you with as much support as possible. Financial aid generated through the ongoing fundraising programs will be available exclusively to rank and file crewmembers only.

HOW LONG THE APPROVAL PROCESS TAKES?

Standard processing time is set to 30 days after the nomination round is completed.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE THE FINANCIAL AID?

Traditional channels of aid disbursement that we use are: PayPal and Western Union, both proven to be cost efficient, secure and convenient. To prevent misuse of personal data, we do not make payments to credit cards or bank accounts.
