Our small, local coffee and flower shop Ivory Flower has recently experienced a break-in that left us devastated as most of the flowers and displays were trashed and broken, with some items stolen.
Unfortunately, early this morning, our restaurant was broken into around 3:00 AM. The person who entered caused significant damage to our property and stole from us. While we do have security footage, the individual was wearing a ski mask and cannot be identified at this time.
Many people have suggested we file an insurance claim, and while we are pursuing that, we are a nonprofit and entirely run by volunteers so we don't have all the funds, and the reality is that insurance often does not cover everything — especially for a small independent coffee and flower shop. Between replacing stolen items, repairing the damage, and adding extra security measures to prevent this from happening again, the unexpected financial strain is very real for our little business.
